The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has denounced what it called a new war crime by the “criminal Zionist enemy,” accusing Israeli occupation forces of exhuming hundreds of graves in an eastern Gaza cemetery in search of the body of the last captured Israeli occupation soldier. The movement said the act showed a complete disregard for humanitarian, legal, and ethical norms, noting that such violations have been repeated hundreds of times during the Israeli enemy’s ongoing campaign of destruction in Gaza.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem told reporters, “This moral and legal collapse by the Israeli enemy regime and its army reflects the failure of the international system to hold it accountable for unprecedented crimes in the modern era.”

He added that Israeli aircraft struck civilians in eastern Gaza City early on Tuesday, killing four people outside the so-called “yellow line.”

“This crime, along with the continuous attacks against our people, underscores Israel’s ongoing campaign of extermination against the people of Gaza,” Qassem said. “It is a blatant challenge to all efforts to establish a ceasefire and a flagrant violation of the war cessation agreement.”

He further warned that “any discussions about ending the war, establishing peace institutions, or launching reconstruction initiatives are meaningless as long as daily killings of civilians in Gaza continue.”

Continued Israeli Aggression in Gaza

Israeli occupation army: On the 109th day of the ceasefire agreement, continued to violate the truce in Gaza.

Medical sources reported that three Palestinians were killed and others injured by Israeli fire in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza within 24 hours.

Following the discovery of the body of a captured Israeli soldier, the army demolished homes in Al-Tuffah. Dozens of artillery shells were fired, alongside heavy gunfire targeting the eastern areas of Gaza City.

On Monday, the Israeli occupation army announced it had recovered the body of the missing policeman after exhuming dozens of graves in Al-Tuffah. On Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on Rafah in southern Gaza, while helicopters fired on the eastern part of Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza. Simultaneously, artillery struck eastern Khan Younis in southern Gaza, and Israeli naval vessels opened fire in the southern Gaza Sea.

Since the ceasefire, the total number of Palestinians killed has reached 489, with 1,341 injured and 714 bodies recovered. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, the total casualties have risen to 71,660 dead and 171,419 injured.
