Iranian Navy Deputy Commander of Operations Rear Admiral Farhad Fattahi outlined on Monday the Islamic Republic’s military achievements during its confrontation with the United States, stressing that Iranian missile strikes and drone operations inflicted damage on US naval assets and thwarted Washington’s plans to advance into Iranian territory.

Fattahi announced that Iranian forces struck the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with a missile, inflicting damage, and targeted the US destroyer USS Arleigh Burke, forcing it to end its mission and return via the Cape of Good Hope.

He said Iran’s missile and drone operations had prevented US and Israeli forces from approaching the Iranian coastline or entering the country’s territorial waters.

Warning against any US naval incursion, Fattahi vowed that Iranian forces would inflict significant damage on American ships attempting to enter Iran’s territorial waters through what he described as a comprehensive and effective operation.

The Iranian admiral also said Tehran had anticipated the enemy attack 12 to 15 hours in advance and taken measures to limit the damage, including deploying equipment and relocating missile and drone units.

Fattahi further asserted that Iran had not left unanswered the US submarine attack on the Iranian warship Dena.

He credited advances in drone technology and artificial intelligence, alongside Iranian naval tactics, with strengthening the country’s operational capabilities during the confrontation.

The United States, he concluded, had failed to achieve its objective of advancing into Iranian territory.
