Senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan are set to visit Tehran for a joint meeting with Iranian officials to discuss regional security, Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced, according to Tasnim news agency.

The meeting will bring together Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, who are expected to meet with Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Bagheri Kani said.

He added that Munir had announced the decision during a meeting with Rezaei, confirming that the three officials would travel to the Iranian capital for consultations and a joint session.

The visit brings together representatives of the three countries that signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement on August 7, 2026. The pact commits Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan to mutual assistance in the event of an armed attack against any member, establishing a framework for closer defense coordination and collective security.

Bagheri Kani said the three countries could work alongside Iran to advance “endogenous regional security”, a regional security framework built through cooperation among countries in the region.

He added that Iran’s experience in safeguarding its national security during the US-Israeli war of aggression could serve as a basis for taking effective steps toward regional security, according to Tasnim.
