Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc: We Warn against Betting on Aggressive and Hegemonic Forces to Determine Lebanon’s Fate

The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc held its regular session today, Friday, October 23, 2026, with all its members present and participating. Following discussions on the latest political developments in Lebanon and the region, the bloc issued the following statement:

Indications continue to mount, warning that the region and Lebanon are being placed on a hotbed due to the insistence of the U.S. administration and the Zionist-led occupation entity on continuing to overturn the stability of the region’s map and attempting to redraw it through aggression and war, in accordance with what they imagine they can impose on its peoples and regimes. The focus remains on using excessive force to achieve what U.S. and Zionist officials have announced: overthrowing the regime in Iran and subjugating its free and brave people to their hegemony and tyranny.

Regrettably, the policies of many countries in the region are bound to this climate, with some of their regimes and authorities remaining oblivious to the fates being plotted for their countries, while others actively enlist in serving the enemy’s blueprint out of compliance and appeasement.

Our country, Lebanon, is not immune to fragmentation resulting from the trajectory of events in its surroundings—despite the preoccupation of some, unfortunately, with settling internal factional scores that threaten to fracture what remains of internal cohesion and push the country toward an unprecedented level of tension, particularly within the context of the Zionist enemy’s plans to resume its brutal aggression.

As the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc monitors local and regional developments, it reiterates its commitment to the priority of safeguarding national sovereignty, rising responsibly to the level of fortifying internal stability, and reviewing the political authorities’ approaches based on a comprehensive national understanding of the existential risks and challenges targeting everyone—not just a specific faction, as some delude themselves into thinking.

Accordingly, the bloc calls upon the country’s government and political forces of all stripes to cool internal tension climates and assume national responsibility through solidarity and cooperation to protect destiny, rather than being dragged into bickering and persistent fragmentation driven by delusions and malice.

The bloc advises against betting on aggressive and hegemonic forces to determine the country’s fate and interfere in the management of its affairs, as this drains all partial achievements and positives, dragging them into strategic slip-ups that overthrow the supreme interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese people.

During its session, the bloc recorded the following:

Denying the Resistance’s legitimate right to national defense against the Zionist occupation of Lebanon is not only a violation of all laws, international charters, the Constitution, and legislation, but it also constitutes a dangerous gateway to continuing aggression against Lebanon, confiscating its sovereignty and national decision-making, and imposing dependency and dictated measures upon it. The National Accord Document (Taif Agreement) and constitutional texts protected the right of resistance, and successive governments undertook the decisions and procedures regulating and cementing its legitimacy. The principle of the “monopoly of weapons” cannot be validly adopted in light of the occupation, its threats, and its conditions. Furthermore, Hezbollah has consistently abided by the cessation of hostilities agreement since November 27, 2024, while the enemy remains non-recognizing of it.

The blatant political targeting cannot be covered up by decisions and procedures or justify its suspicious objectives, which in no way serve internal stability nor meet the country’s need to rally around a unified national stance that confronts the occupation and its assaults, safeguarding sovereignty and national dignity. The government’s decision yesterday to postpone the referral of the Dahr al-Baydar car file to the Judicial Council is a prudent pause pending its proper handling in the right direction.

National solidarity is imperative to avoid or mitigate the repercussions of the fire spreading in the region due to the U.S.-Israeli aggression. This requires national awareness among all Lebanese to avert its dangers and the negative effects that could befall the country as a result of its escalation and persistence.

The bloc values the convening of the Second National Gathering in Beirut and the wide representative participation of political, religious, partisan, trade union, and media figures and forces. It affirms its support for the content of the final statement, which expressed the national political choices embraced by the overwhelming majority in our Lebanese society.

The bloc holds the U.S. administration and the Zionist entity fully responsible for the wars, aggressions, and the escalation of conflicts and tensions in our Arab and Islamic region in particular. It condemns their terrorist policies, their defiance and denial of international charters, alongside their perpetration of acts of genocide that shame the international community and humanity at all. The bloc renews its condemnation of their aggressive war against Iran and their explicit, announced targeting to overthrow its political system and confiscate the will of its civilized and brave people. It calls upon the peoples and nations of the world to shoulder their responsibilities and condemn this dangerous aggressive behavior against international peace and security.
