Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, issued a stark warning on Thursday, stating that any action taken against Iran will come at a cost and that energy markets will not see stability for the next three years.
Speaking on the current conflict, Rezaei emphasized that if diplomacy can succeed in establishing this realization, then Iran prefers diplomacy. However, he cautioned that should the conflict continue, Iran possesses the necessary means to sustain its response.
“We have not yet utilized our full capabilities in the preceding stages,” Rezaei stated. “As the conflict has intensified, we have brought additional capabilities into play, and we remain prepared for the next phase as well.”
The Secretary-General further warned that a continuation of the current situation will have strategic repercussions, including the persistent instability of energy markets. He also noted that the persistence of this conflict has altered the dynamics of relations in a manner that serves Iran’s interests.
