One settler attempted to assault a Palestinian driver, who then briefly lost control of the vehicle and accidentally ran him over, according to Palestinian media. For its part, Israeli security officials assessed that the incident was a hit-and-run rather than a so-called “terror attack,” referring to car-ramming attacks in which Palestinians carry out in retaliation for surging oppressive measures by Israeli occupation forces across the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds. Israeli media cited a preliminary investigation by the occupation army which found that settlers from an illegal outpost in the West Bank so-called settlement of Ateret were disrupting traffic by attempting to block Palestinian motorists. One Palestinian driver, while trying to flee the settler roadblock, struck one of the settlers, injuring him. He was taken to a hospital in light-to-moderate condition, The Times of Israel reported. The occupation army said troops and police officers were dispatched to the area after a car struck an Israeli settler, and that “forces launched a pursuit after the suspect and are establishing roadblocks in the area.”
