The Israeli outlet “Channel 12” has confirmed that no agreement has been reached regarding the conditions for “flydubai” to resume operations at Ben Gurion Airport two weeks after the aircraft incident amid a sharp dispute between Israel and the UAE that raises fears of escalating into a political crisis.
‘Israel’ is demanding a full investigation and enhanced security measures, even though responsibility for the incident remains unclear.
‘Israel’ is also calling on the UAE to bolster security at Dubai Airport. Among other measures, the Israeli security agency Shin Bet is demanding the installation of additional Israeli X-ray scanners for luggage and permission for its agents to be stationed at the airport.
In response, the UAE has expressed anger over these demands. Senior Emirati officials told “Channel 12,” “We will not do what you tell us; you are insulting our dignity,” rejecting the Israeli requests.
The UAE is also refusing to cooperate with the investigation under the terms demanded by Israel “until approval is granted to resume flights,” according to “Channel 12.”
Due to this dispute, the Israeli delegation—led by the Ministry of Transportation and originally scheduled to travel to Dubai—will not depart at this stage, “Channel 12” reported.
