One Israeli Killed, 19 Injured in Possible Unexploded Ordnance Blast Near Lebanon Border: Reports

Israeli Media: 20 Injured in Explosion Near Lebanon Border, Possibly Caused by Unexploded Ordnance (Oct 12, 2026).

Israeli media reported that 20 Zionist settlers were injured to varying degrees in Yiftah, in the Ramim Ridge area along the Lebanese border. The reports said the injuries were believed to have resulted from an explosion at the scene, possibly caused by unexploded ordnance.

Israeli occupation police later said the incident in the north appeared to have been caused by the explosion of an unexploded bomb.

Israeli media reported that four people were critically injured in the blast, adding that the Israeli military was assisting in evacuating casualties from the Yiftah area. The incident was described as extremely serious.

Later reports from Israeli media said around 20 hikers, including students and teachers, were injured in an explosion in an open area near Kibbutz Ne’ot Mordechai in the Galilee region. According to initial reports from the scene, some of the injured were in critical condition.

Israeli military helicopters and teams from Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service, were dispatched to the site to carry out rescue operations and provide medical treatment under difficult conditions.

Preliminary investigations indicated suspicions that the explosion had been caused by an old bomb. Security and rescue forces were operating at the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident was underway. The Israeli military declared a mass-casualty incident.
