Member of Hamas Politburo Basem Naim said the Palestinian resistance movement takes Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz’s threats to assassinate its leader seriously, while viewing them as part of the Israeli far right’s political maneuvering ahead of elections.
In a post, Naim accused the Israeli far right of vying for votes by “spreading death everywhere,” amid escalating Israeli threats against resistance leaders.
Addressing Katz directly, Naim said, “Are you threatening us with what we pray for day and night? Martyrdom? Your efforts are in vain.

He vowed that Hamas would remain on its path until victory and liberation are achieved.
Naim stressed that viewing the threats as electorally motivated does not diminish the movement’s resolve to take them seriously.
