MP Fadlallah Reiterates Plan to House the Displaced: Resistance, Geopolitical Changes to Impose Israeli Withdrawal from South Lebanon

Member of “Loyalty to Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, emphasized that the goal of the housing program launched by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem is to alleviate the displacement crisis as much as possible. He stated that this decision will be implemented, fulfilling a promise and commitment previously initiated by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and whose details were executed by Sayyed Hashem Safieddine. He added that it will now be completed, God willing, regardless of challenges, difficulties, or blockages.

He added: “However, this does not absolve the government of its responsibilities; it is the party concerned with working to compensate the affected and rebuild. We will continue our efforts with the government and its Prime Minister to fulfill their duty independently of political disputes, because this file must be kept away from any political considerations.”

Fadlallah pointed out that “since this announcement, the US administration has mobilized through a State Department statement and statements by its officials. However, we are unconcerned by their mobilization, stances, and statements. We have a goal that is no less important to us than the goal of liberating the south through appropriate means that preserve sovereignty and protect the sacrifices of the martyrs: standing by the people and striving to alleviate their pain and suffering. Anything offered to them does not equal a single drop of the martyrs’ blood, nor the patience shown through pain, displacement, and loss of property.”

MP Fadlallah’s remarks came during a commemorative ceremony held by Hezbollah for the martyrs of the Islamic Resistance from the southern town of Ainat at the Imam al-Mujtaba Complex in Saint Therese. The event was attended by Hezbollah’s Beirut region official, Hussein Fadlallah, along with several clerics, dignitaries, figures, families of the martyrs, and a gathering of residents.

Fadlallah noted that “Hezbollah has sought, worked, and made efforts to alleviate the suffering of these people through the housing program, while Americans and others began claiming this matter is incorrect, and others began questioning the validity of this program. Yet, we do not pay attention to, care about, or mind any of this skepticism, disinformation, stories, and stances. Whoever wants to be shocked, upset, or unbelieving is free to do so, but this step has certainly dealt them a blow, frustrating their project and objectives of tampering with our people and their morale.”

MP Fadlallah stressed that “our cause today is the liberation of the south, expelling the occupation from it, the return of our people to their villages, the reconstruction of these villages, and living in the south with security and stability. We are doing everything today at all levels and fronts for this cause. Therefore, if there is a possibility to liberate our land through politics, we do not oppose the political approach—meaning if diplomacy can achieve liberation for us, we do not mind. However, this is not the diplomacy of this authority, which relies on concession, surrender, submission, and accepting to place the Lebanese army under the guardianship of foreign parties; that is not diplomacy. We told everyone in secret and public to resort to diplomacy based on our internal cohesion, our strength, our resistance, our right, and everything that strengthens the internal situation. But they pursued the framework agreement, which flew away and lost any value; they could not implement it and never will.”

Fadlallah pointed out that “we have no reasonable political option, and no such option has been presented to us to liberate the south. Therefore, the solution lies in resistance based on our right, the steadfastness of our people, and the variables happening around us. We say that the balance of power is no longer as it was before 2000; the conditions and circumstances around us have changed. Consequently, the resistance—relying on a regional formula currently being consolidated by the Islamic Republic of Iran—will definitely lead to the liberation of the land. We will return, without a doubt, to our villages and towns, and we see this before our eyes.”

Fadlallah considered that “the Islamic Republic of Iran today is a regional power that affirms openly and in meetings that it will not abandon Lebanon, nor forget or leave it, and that in any agreement or settlement, Lebanon will be the top priority. This is settled as far as Iran is concerned, and we have complete confidence in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Right now, there is no other solution except this one. Even with this authority, despite all its flaws, vices, and actions, we tell it to this day that if there is another option that liberates the land, returns the south, rebuilds it, and does not involve compromising our sovereignty, we are ready and present for it. We and the Amal Movement are not closed off and have not shut the doors. Just as we prepare in the field, we prepare politically for any option that leads us to the result.”
