Abu Obeida: October 7 Shattered Israeli Security Doctrine, Redrew Global Balance of Power

Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, said October 7 had “shattered the occupation’s security doctrine once and for all” and redrawn global power dynamics, as he marked the third anniversary of the attack by praising those who took part in and died during the “great crossing,” as well as the Palestinian people in Gaza.

In a speech marking three years since October 7, Abu Obeida said, “Three years have passed since the sacred crossing—the day when the arms of men shattered the occupation’s security doctrine once and for all. By the grace of God Almighty, there remained neither deterrence, nor decisive victory, nor warning.”

He paid tribute to the “heroes and martyrs of the great crossing, leaders and soldiers,” as well as to “our great people, the beginning and the end of the story.”

Addressing residents of the Gaza Strip, he said, “People of great Gaza, the price was immense, but your deed was greater,” adding that future generations would remember them “as makers of glory and those who changed the course of history and the balance of power in the world, and as steadfast defenders of the honor of the nation and its holy sites.”

Abu Obeida said that Gaza, despite being a “small, besieged strip of land,” had managed to “awaken the consciences of free people and expose all the conspirators and those who failed to act.”

He described October 7 as a “military feat achieved through God’s guidance and grace,” saying that “the enemy before the friend” had acknowledged the scale of the planning and execution, as well as the sophistication of the carefully orchestrated strategic deception. He said resistance fighters had excelled in exploiting “every threat and opportunity,” including “Netanyahu’s narcissism, arrogance, and contempt for his adversaries.”

Abu Obeida stressed that Palestine “will not forget those who supported it, particularly those who shed blood for it,” adding that “the desecration of Al-Aqsa and Gaza’s bleeding wound cry out to everyone, without exception.”

“Sudan and Libya are no less courageous or zealous than Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran,” Abu Obeida said, arguing that developments had demonstrated that “there is no excuse for those who fail to act, when everyone witnessed how the simple drones coming from different fronts kept the enemy awake at night.”
