Israeli occupation forces carried out a fresh incursion into the western Damascus countryside in southwestern Syria on Monday, and blew up an abandoned building in the area, Syrian media reported, a day after new authorities in Damascus condemned Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty.

Syria Alikhbariah TV said Israeli occupation forces entered agricultural land between the town of Beit Jinn and Mazraat Beit Jinn before demolishing the abandoned building.

The broadcaster did not provide further details about the raid or report any casualties.

The Beit Jinn area has witnessed repeated Israeli military attacks in recent weeks.

Earlier on Sunday, Syria condemned continued Israeli violations of Syrian territory, official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

It accused ‘Israel’ of creating a new line of control inside Syria called the “Sufa 53 Line,” the report said.

“The Syrian Arab Republic on Sunday condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Syrian territory, the latest of which was the completion of work on the so-called ‘Sufa 53 Line,’ in flagrant violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and international law,” SANA reported.

On Sept. 18, Israeli forces shelled the outskirts of Beit Jinn, days after another Israeli force raided agricultural land around the town with about 10 military vehicles, two tanks and a bulldozer.

Since the fall of Al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, Israeli occupation forces have stepped up incursions and attacks, including raids, searches, arrests and the establishment of military checkpoints.

‘Israel’ has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967. Following the fall of Al-Assad’s regime, ‘Israel’ declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and seized the demilitarized buffer zone and other positions, including the Syrian side of Mount Hermon (Jabal Al-Sheikh).
