The Syrian Electricity Company announced Wednesday that the Deir Ali, Nasiriyah and Tishreen power plants have gone out of service following an explosion on a gas line at Tishreen Thermal Power Plant, which disrupted the gas supplies required to operate the plants.
The company said in a statement on Telegram, that the fire caused by the explosion was still burning, while specialized teams continued to deal with the incident.
The shutdown of the three plants will temporarily reduce electricity generation and increase power rationing hours due to the resulting shortage in available generation capacity.
The company added that updates on the status of the power plants and electricity supply would be released as they become available.
Later on, SANA announced that a bus was targeted by unidentified individuals on the Masyaf Bridge, resulting in deaths and injuries.
