A delegation representing Hezbollah visited Armenian Orthodox Patriarch Catholicos Aram I Keshishian on Tuesday, and conveyed Secretary General Sheikh Qassem’s season’s greetings.

The delegation was headed by Hezbollah’s Christian relations official Mohammad Al-Khansa and included Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Amin Sherri and Abdallah Zay’our.

MP Hagop Pakradounian, member of the International Council of the Tashnag Party, also attended the meeting.

The Hezbollah delegation briefed the Armenian Orthodox patriarch on the repeated attacks by the Zionist enemy on the Lebanese territory, stressing that Hezbollah had adhered to all the requirements of the 2024 ceasefire agreement, as stated in the army command report.

The delegation underlined the need for international parties to exert pressure for the release of Lebanese prisoners held by the Israeli enemy, withdrawal from occupied sites, and a halt to all forms of aggression, in addition to the need for the government to fulfill its duty in reconstruction, according to a statement released by Hezbollah Media Relations.

The Hezbollah delegation also affirmed the Lebanese resistance group’s commitment to building a Lebanese state capable of maintaining security and preventing external aggression from any source, particularly along the southern border. It emphasized Hezbollah’s readiness to provide full support through a defensive strategy or a national project that safeguards the security of Lebanon’s territory and its people.

“For his part, His Holiness, the Patriarch stressed the need for serious work towards dialogue among all components of the Lebanese people, emphasizing the unity and strength of Lebanon and preserving all its spiritual components.  He recalled what His Holiness, the Pope affirmed during his visit to Lebanon, when he gathered representatives of all Lebanese sects and called for the rejection of hatred and discord among the various groups,” the statement read.
