Lebanon Speaker Berri: ‘Israel’ Doesn’t Want to Implement Ceasefire Deal

Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri said that the Israeli enemy doesn’t want to implement the 2024 ceasefire deal with Lebanon.

Commenting on reports over freezing meetings of the Mechanism committee overseeing the ceasefire deal, Speaker Berri said: “Israel does not want to implement the November 27 agreement, even though the agreement was with the US, France, and the United Nations.”

In remarks to local media, he noted that “Lebanon is not alone in limbo, as the entire region is experiencing instability.”

On his meeting with the Saudi envoy to Lebanon Yazid bin Farhan, Speaker Berri said that it was excellent and positive.

The Israeli enemy continues to bomb Lebanon, mainly the country’s south, almost daily and maintains occupation over five posts along the southern border, in violation of a ceasefire deal reached following the 2024 Israeli war.

At least 435 people have been martyred by Israeli attacks since November 2024, according to toll released by Lebanon’s Health Ministry and updated by Al-Manar.

Enemy forces also stage infiltrations into Lebanese territory on daily bases, blowing up houses in the border towns.
