Iranian Army, IRGC Commanders: Iran’s Military Capabilities Exceed Enemy Expectations

Iranian Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Major General Ahmad Vahidi attend a joint meeting to review the latest military developments (Sep 12, 2026).

The commanders of Iran’s Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said during a joint meeting that Iran’s military capabilities exceed the enemy’s expectations, stressing that adversaries had witnessed firsthand during the latest war how badly they had miscalculated the strength of the Iranian military and how the realities on the battlefield had proven otherwise.

IRGC Commander Major General Ahmad Vahidi held a meeting with Iranian Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami to review the latest developments on the ground.

Vahidi stressed that national unity and cohesion were among the most significant gains achieved, asserting they represent a decisive response to the enemy’s threats.

He said the military sector was witnessing unprecedented intelligence and operational coordination among the various armed forces and law enforcement agencies, which he described as a fundamental pillar for securing victory.

Vahidi also highlighted the Army’s heroic role in recent wars, describing the sacrifices of its commanders and soldiers as “bright pages” in Iranian history. He said the Army had demonstrated a high degree of operational boldness, stressing that the Army and the IRGC, as two major forces opposed to the United States, had crushed terrorist forces.

Speaking about the confrontation with the United States, Vahidi said American forces had encountered a wall of faith and determination, resulting in paralysis in decision-making within the White House. He added that the US administration had resorted to misleading public opinion to conceal intelligence and military failures in assessing Iran’s ability to withstand pressure.

Major General Hatami

For his part, Iranian Army Commander Major General Hatami stressed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had served as one of the key pillars of national power, security, and deterrence in the Islamic Republic of Iran for more than four decades. Today, he said, drawing on its faith, experience, and strategic capabilities, the IRGC stands at the forefront of defending the country’s independence and security.

He stressed that the continued hostility of the “front of arrogance” toward the IRGC was conclusive evidence of the institution’s decisive role in preserving national power and security. Enemies, he said, fully understand that the IRGC is a symbol of the Iranian people’s will and defensive strength, as well as one of the most significant obstacles to achieving their objectives.

Hatami said enemies must change their view of the great Iranian people, the sacred Islamic Republic system, and the wise leadership of the Islamic Revolution and understand that the great Iranian nation must be addressed with respect and appreciation.

The Army commander affirmed that the unity and coordination between the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps constitute the foundation of national security and the key to attaining the highest levels of security and strength. He said the enduring unity between the Army and the IRGC, as predicted by the leaders of the Islamic Revolution, “is an iron shield that has protected our country from the sedition, schemes, and conspiracies hatched by its enemies.”

He added, “In the recent imposed wars and in resisting the demands of the enemies, we once again proved that we will not compromise our national interests and that the Iranian people and the armed forces that emerged from them will continue the path of the martyrs with pride.”
