The leaders of Iran’s executive, legislative, and judicial authorities, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, and Ayatollah Gholam-Hussein Mohseni Ejei, have issued a joint message to the Iranian people, praising their “awareness and vigilance in thwarting enemy plots targeting Iran’s unity.”
They emphasized their commitment to working day and night to resolve the people’s economic and livelihood issues and provide security.
The three leaders also commended the people’s vigilance in separating protesters from rioters, stating that the efforts of security forces, including the police, Revolutionary Guards, and Basij, foiled the dirty plot planned by those behind the recent bitter events.
They described the Iranian people as “wise, intelligent, and aware of the era,” capable of foiling complex enemy plots against Iran’s strong and independent unity.
The leaders pledged to follow the Supreme Leader’s guidelines, utilize the nation’s elite, and work together to resolve issues and uphold Iran’s reputation. They also vowed to investigate the causes of recent terrorist incidents, punish perpetrators fairly, and show Islamic compassion to those misled.
They promised to exercise the prudence and wisdom expected of them to safeguard the blood of hundreds of thousands of martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, raise the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and elevate Iran’s and Iranians’ reputation worldwide.
Some shopkeepers last month staged peaceful protests in different Iranian cities over economic grievances, which are directly linked to unilateral US sanctions. The demonstrations, however, were steered toward violence after public statements by US and Israeli regime figures encouraged vandalism and disorder.
During the unrest, foreign-backed armed rioters damaged public property and caused casualties among civilians and security forces.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that some of the agents behind the sedition were identified, trained, and largely recruited by American and Israeli agencies.
