Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says that if the Unted States intesifies its maritime blockade against the Iranian nation, Tehran will respond militarily.

Ghalibaf made the remarks in a video message released on Tuesday.

The Iranian Armed Forces invest every available opportunity to rebuild their strength and will not waste a single hour or moment in pursuit of that goal, he said.

Ghalibaf noted that the United States acts like pirates, attempting to smuggle several ships through the Strait of Hormuz, but our forces are lying in wait for them.

The Strait of Hormuz is completely under the control of our armed forces, he affirmed.

“If the Strait of Hormuz were in American hands, why would they launch daily attacks on our islands? The Americans falsely reassure ships about the possibility of crossing the strait, yet those ships end up being targeted. Contrary to the understanding, the United States seeks to use the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, but we will not allow them to do so.”

“Before the war, at least 120 ships used to pass through the Strait of Hormuz daily; even if only one or two ships manage to cross now, it cannot in any way compare to pre-war transit levels. Reaching an agreement with Oman as a coastal state on the Strait of Hormuz was achieved through diplomacy,” he said.

Iran’s military capability in the Strait of Hormuz has been preserved and strengthened, and management of the Strait of Hormuz does not violate international laws in any way.”
