Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has criticized the contradiction between Washington’s claims of victory and its intensified economic pressure on Tehran.
“Mr. Bessent! Your narrative does not add up: You say Iran’s military capability has been dismantled, 100% of military factories destroyed, and the nuclear program buried,” Gharibabadi said in response to the US Secretary of the Treasury’s claims about Iran and wrote in a Persian-language post on his X account.
“Yet for the very same Iran, the largest financial offensive in history and the mobilization of all US agencies and authorities have become necessary!”
“Is this a victory or an admission of US defeat?” he asked.
