Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Brigadier General Mohebbi responded on Monday to the US President Donald Trump’s claim that the United States is holding talks with Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials through a backchannel regarding issues related to the war, stressing that it is untrue.
Mohebbi stressed that no talks were taking place between Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials and the Americans, adding that this lie fabricated by Trump was nothing but delusions brought on by the illusions and nightmares resulting from defeat and impotence in the war.
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is the arm and voice of the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic, and it speaks its word on the battlefield. As for diplomatic negotiations, they fall within the remit of other departments of the Islamic Republic. Of course, according to the information available to us and based on assurances from respected Foreign Ministry officials, there are currently no talks with the Americans on this front either, due to their breach of promises and the dark experiences of repeated and ongoing violations of commitments by the United States.”
“Trump’s mental fantasies will not help him on the battlefield. Through these statements, he is attempting to temporarily control global oil and energy prices; however, he has only one genuine path before him: accepting defeat and implementing the conditions set by Iran. Therefore, the sooner the Americans accept their failure and make their decisions accordingly, the more they will spare their country from greater losses.”
