The Lebanese Parents of Child Martyrs Association on Saturday condemned a new Israeli massacre in the southern town of Ansar that killed a family of six, including four children, and called on Lebanese authorities to document the attack and pursue accountability through regional and international legal channels.
In a statement, the association condemned the Israeli occupation army’s pre-dawn attack on a family in Ansar on August 15, 2026, which killed Ali Al-Hajj Hassan, his wife, Zeinab Nassereddine, and their children Zahraa, Hassan, Hussein, and Abbas.
“From the shared pain that binds us as fathers and mothers who have lost our children, we extend our deepest condolences to the martyrs’ family,” the association said. “Their children are not numbers in a record of massacres. Each had a face, a story, a dream, and a life that should have continued.”
The association said parents who had experienced the loss of a child could not accept the killing of Lebanese children becoming a recurring scene that is eventually forgotten.
“We will not become accustomed to the killing of our children, nor will we allow their targeting to become normalized,” it said.
It called on people across Lebanon to stand with the victims’ families, stressing that “the blood of a Lebanese child does not belong to one region over another.”
The association also urged the Lebanese state to assume its full responsibilities by documenting the massacre and all crimes targeting civilians and children and promptly submitting the evidence to regional and international human rights and judicial bodies, ensuring that evidence is preserved and those responsible are pursued through available legal mechanisms.

It further called on Lebanese authorities to take “practical and decisive measures” to protect civilians and forge a unified national position that safeguards Lebanon’s right to defend itself against Israeli aggression and prevents Israel from exploiting any existing “understandings” or frameworks to justify continued attacks on the Lebanese people.
The association also called on the media to uphold its ethical and professional responsibilities by placing the child victims at the center of coverage and documenting their names, faces, and stories.
It urged media outlets to adopt clear language condemning what it called the “criminal enemy that kills children,” rather than promoting Israeli claims, even indirectly.
The association reaffirmed that Lebanon and its people have an inherent right to defend themselves against aggression, describing that right as a fundamental duty of the state and warning that failure to uphold it would amount to a surrender of Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The association concluded, “We won’t accept our children’s deaths or let them be just numbers.” “Let the blood of our children be a catalyst for unity among all Lebanese hearts and wills—in defense of humanity, Lebanon, and the future of every child in Lebanon.”
