The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has declared that foreign media outlets’ growing acknowledgment of President Donald Trump’s failure in the war against Iran is a direct result of Iranian revolutionary media’s success in countering enemy disinformation campaigns.
In a statement issued Saturday to mark Iran’s National Journalists’ Day, the IRGC lauded the nation’s journalists for sustaining public hope, awareness and truthfulness during what it described as “one of the most complex and consequential battles in contemporary history.”
The statement comes amid escalating hostilities that began February 28, when the United States and Israel jointly launched what Iran describes as an unprovoked aggression targeting Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, senior Iranian officials, and an elementary school in the southern city of Minab. The attack reportedly killed 168 children, teachers and parents.
Iranian armed forces subsequently launched retaliatory strikes against US and Israeli assets in the region, dealing what the IRGC described as “heavy blows to the invading coalition.”
Conflict
Despite Washington and Israel’s combined military and media efforts, the IRGC asserted that both nations have failed to achieve their stated objectives. The conflict, according to the statement, has instead exposed “a strategic deadlock, divisions among Western allies and the decline of their influence.”
“World media outlets, acknowledging Washington’s failure to prevail over the Islamic Republic, are openly speaking of Trump’s ‘defeat’ and the ‘self-created trap’ in his war against Iran,” the statement read.
The IRGC further noted that some international reports have characterized recent agreements as little more than a “document of US surrender” in the face of Iran’s defense capabilities and negotiating power assessments the force attributed to Iran’s military strength, strategic leadership, popular resilience and public support for the armed forces.
Revolutionary Media’s Role
The IRGC specifically praised Iranian media’s “intelligent and precise efforts” in countering hostile disinformation and exaggeration, while condemning enemies for deploying hybrid and cyberwarfare tools including artificial intelligence to distort facts and widen the gap between the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic.
“The experience of the unrest, particularly the events of January 8 and 9, 2026, taught us that the media dimension of sedition is the most complex and vital part of this equation,” the IRGC stated. “The first narrative will belong to whoever enters the field faster, more accurately and more intelligently.”
The force also honored journalists who continued their work despite threats and dangerous conditions during the recent war some of whom, it said, lost their lives while carrying out their duties for providing timely accounts, reporting on civilian resistance, portraying victims’ suffering and highlighting unprecedented national solidarity.
“Fighters on the front of awareness and the pen,” the IRGC concluded, congratulating journalists on their national day and describing them as defenders of “the frontline of narrative and truth.”
