Maduro’s Son Vows to Defend Venezuela’s Peace, Bring Back Kidnapped Leaders

Nicolás Maduro’s son, Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra, declared that supporters of the Venezuelan government will preserve the country’s peace and work to restore President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, who were kidnapped during a US military operation on January 3.

Transport sector workers marched in a large demonstration in Caracas to show solidarity with Maduro and Flores, with public transport unions and related sectors leading the rally. Maduro Guerra addressed the crowd, affirming the government’s commitment to internal stability.

He said the decisions being made “today are the right ones,” emphasizing that the priority is “to safeguard the nation’s peace and ensure its progress.” Maduro Guerra added that government supporters are steadfast in their mission to “bring back Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores” and pledged to continue “leading the way and building on the model left by Hugo Chávez, based on social justice and prosperity for all.”

Speakers at the rally stressed that the demonstrations were intended to demonstrate unity and defend national sovereignty amid the current political and security developments in Venezuela, reaffirming their support for the policies of the current government.
