Around 5M Pilgrims Visit Iraq to Commemorate Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (A.S.)

The Iraqi Security Media Office announced on Monday that the number of pilgrims arriving in the country to commemorate the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) has exceeded 4.8 million, with the influx of pilgrims continuing from around the world.

In a statement, the Office said that the Arba’een Pilgrimage Command Center, located within the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, is continuing to implement the security and service plan for the pilgrimage.

“This is being done in coordination with various security, service, and support agencies to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims arriving in Iraq and to provide the highest levels of efficiency through border crossings and main routes, under the direct supervision and support of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.”

The statement added that the updated statistics as of last night showed that the total number of pilgrims arriving in Iraq since the beginning of Muharram has reached 4,887,660, with pilgrims continuing to arrive from various countries to participate in the Arba’een pilgrimage.

The Security Media Officew confirmed that the security forces and supporting agencies continue to carry out their field duties according to the plans drawn up, under the supervision and follow-up of the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Visits, while strengthening security, organizational and service measures in line with the continuous increase in the number of visitors, in order to ensure the smooth flow of their movement and provide a safe and stable environment throughout the days of the visit.
