Islamic Resistance in Iraq issued on Monday a statement which categorically denied any involvement in attacks against the Saudi entity or its facilities, affirming that the response to the US aggression is ievitable.
What follows is the full text of the statement:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
“And fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not love the transgressors.”
After the Islamic Resistance categorically denied any involvement in attacks against the Saudi entity or its facilities, the American enemy committed a new crime by targeting members of the Popular Mobilization Forces and a convoy serving the visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Karbala, resulting in dozens of martyrs and wounded.
We affirm without doubt that the Saudi regime has never been, and never will be, anything other than a treacherous dagger and a corrupt tool directed by the White House and its suspicious intelligence agencies. Just as it once mobilized its capabilities to dispatch suicide bombers to shed Iraqi blood, today it has once again renewed its contract of subservience to carry out the crimes and directives of its masters in an attempt to undermine the will of our proud people.
Even if, for the sake of argument, we accepted the validity of their claim that the attack on their oil facilities originated from Iraq, would it be reasonable to respond to an alleged—and unsuccessful—attempt to target an oil field by killing and wounding dozens of innocent civilians?
Furthermore, if, at this critical stage, we had entrusted our weapons and missiles to the government so that it could assume responsibility for defending Iraq’s sovereignty, territory, and people, what decisive measures would it now take in this real test to prove its ability to deter the aggressors and hold accountable those responsible for shedding the pure blood of the martyrs, instead of the Resistance fighters who have repeatedly done so throughout Iraq?
Accordingly, we announce the following:
First: We grant the government authorities that demanded the Resistance disarm until the 23rd of Safar to demonstrate what actions they will take.
Second: In order to safeguard the security of the visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the honorable Arbaeen service processions, and to prevent any disruption to the blessed Arbaeen pilgrimage before its completion, our response against the American enemy is inevitable and may also target its instruments in Saudi Arabia whenever circumstances require.
Mercy and eternal peace upon our righteous martyrs, and a speedy recovery to the wounded.
