Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Wednesday the downing of a Saudi reconnaissance drone over Saada Governorate, warning that they will continue to respond to violations of the country’s sovereignty.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, Spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, said a Karayel reconnaissance aircraft was targeted “while it was conducting hostile operations over Saada Governorate,” adding that it was shot down using “appropriate weaponry.”
Brig. Gen. Saree stressed that Yemeni forces remain committed to defending the country, declaring that “we will continue to protect the sovereignty of Yemen, and it is our legitimate right to respond to any violation.”

Wednesday’s statement comes after Yemeni Armed Forces declared on Tuesday a military operation targeting Saudi oil tanker (NCC GHAZAL) for violating the maritime navigation ban imposed by Yemeni revolutionaries in retaliation for Saudi aggression and blockade on Yemen.
Earlier this month, Saudi warplanes attacked Sanaa International Airport, prompting Yemeni Armed Forces to retaliate, targeting military and oil facilities in the Kingdom’s south.
