Lebanon’s Minister of Education Rima Karami, condemned on Tuesday the Israeli destruction of an educational and social complex in southern Lebanon, warning that attacks on such institutions are part of a broader Israeli effort to undermine Lebanese civilian life and hinder the return of displaced residents to southern Lebanon.
“Educational and social institutions remain the primary target of the Israeli enemy,” Karami said in a statement, citing the destruction of the Abdul Raouf Fadlallah Educational and Social Complex in the town of Ainatha, in Bint Jbeil District.
The complex housed several educational facilities, including Al-Ashraq High School, the Al-Mabarrat Charity Foundation, and Dar Al-Ra’fa, all of which were impacted by the Israeli strike.

Karami described the incident as part of an “Israeli systematic destruction of educational and welfare institutions,” arguing that such actions are intended to “make the return to the occupied villages more difficult,” as schools serve as “the lifeblood of families remaining in their towns and villages.”
Calling for international action, she urged “major and influential countries to pressure Israel to halt the demolition of educational institutions and homes,” particularly “as we are still at the beginning of negotiations to achieve a ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from our lands.”
The minister also expressed solidarity with the Al-Mabarrat Charity Foundation, condemning the “brutal Israeli aggression and ongoing crime against education and society.”
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli enemy destroyed the educational facility by carrying out demolition operation in the southern Lebanese town of Ainatha. Abdul Raouf Fadlallah Educational and Social Complex was the last educational facility in the town of Ainatha.

Earlier this month, the Israeli enemy carried wave of bombings in the nearby town of Bint Jbeil, destroying the structure of Al-Mahdi Schools – Bint Jbeil.

Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon have increasingly targeted civilian infrastructure, including schools and social institutions, drawing concern from Lebanese officials and humanitarian organizations.
Educational facilities, in particular, have come under repeated attack in southern border areas, disrupting access to schooling and complicating efforts for displaced families to return to their towns.
Lebanese authorities argue that the destruction of such institutions undermines the social fabric of these communities, as schools often serve as essential hubs for stability, support services, and daily life in areas affected by Israeli hostilities and occupation.
