The Lebanese Army issued on Sunday a statement that highlights the continuation of the Israeli enemy attacks and violations of existing understandings and international law.
The statement affirmed that the Israeli attacks hinder the army’s full deployment according to existing agreements and prevent the return of residents to their villages and towns.
What follows is the full statement issued by the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation:
The Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks and violations of existing understandings and international law through the systematic destruction and bulldozing of homes, shelling and sweeping with machine guns in several southern areas, including: Kfar Tebnit – Nabatieh, Haddatha and Konine – Bint Jbeil, Nab’a Ibl al-Saqi, Khiam, Mansouri, Byout al-Sayyad, and Majdal Zoun – Tyre. They are also seizing rubble in border areas, blowing up the Litani River National Authority’s water project in Markaba – Marjeyoun, and burning ancient olive trees and vast agricultural lands, most recently on the outskirts of Aitaroun – Bint Jbeil. This is all happening in conjunction with gunfire near army positions in Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, hindering the army’s operations. Meanwhile, the army continues to monitor the return of residents to the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya and carries out its duties there to ensure the safety of citizens, as well as in the areas of Froun and Sarifa, in coordination with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L), alongside its ongoing operations in other southern regions.
The continuation of these attacks hinders the army’s full deployment according to existing agreements and prevents the return of residents to their villages and towns, thus obstructing the establishment of stability in the south.
