UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese on Saturday described Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians across the occupied West Bank as “pogroms,” calling for an immediate arms embargo and a halt to trade with Israel.
Writing on X, Albanese denounced “pogroms against defenseless civilians” across the occupied West Bank while “Gaza is under fire”.
The UN rapporteur added that “It is not just Netanyahu and few “rotten apples”. THIS IS ISRAEL.”
She also called for an immediate arms embargo and a halt on trade with Israel, arguing “this is what international law requires”.

The UN rapporteur was referring to the deadly Israeli settler attack which took place on Friday near the illegal Havat Gilad settlement that killed four Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers.
Palestinian sources reported that the violence was sparked as Israeli settlers attacked the town of Tell, which is close to the illegal settlement. Local and security sources said that the settlers opened live fire as Palestinians tried to protect their homes.
