Hezbollah on Friday mourned international revolutionary Kozo Okamoto, also known as “Ahmad Al-Yabani,” describing him as an international revolutionary and one of the participants in the Lod Airport operation. Okamoto died on Thursday in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
In a statement, Hezbollah said Okamoto had “transcended the boundaries of identity, affiliation, and geography” through his struggle for the foremost humanitarian cause—the Palestinian cause. The group also described him as a wounded fighter and former prisoner who made significant sacrifices in support of the Palestinian people.
Hezbollah asserted that the late Okamoto embodied the model of a revolutionary committed to the values of humanity, freedom, and justice in the face of tyranny, oppression, and racism.
“His struggle affirmed that the Palestinian cause will remain the compass and the cause of free people around the world. No individual, regardless of nationality or distance, has any justification for failing to stand with the oppressed against occupation and injustice or for supporting just and legitimate causes,” the statement added.
The statement concluded by extending condolences to Okamoto’s family, comrades, and supporters, as well as to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Hezbollah prayed for God’s mercy upon him and said it hoped his legacy of struggle would continue to inspire people around the world with the values of freedom, justice, and resistance against the forces of global arrogance.
