Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health on Friday condemned renewed and unjustified Israeli attack targeting medical personnel in southern Lebanon, after an ambulance was hit in Nabatieh Al-Fawqa a day earlier, wounding two paramedics.
In a statement, the ministry said the strike directly targeted “an ambulance belonging to the Civil Defense – Islamic Health Society,” calling it “yet another in a series of crimes committed by the enemy against paramedics and medical teams.”
“These systematic attacks constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and norms,” the ministry said, urging the international community and United Nations bodies to “put an end to these repeated attacks” and hold those responsible to account.
It warned against “remaining silent in the face of the enemy’s disregard for laws that explicitly guarantee the protection of healthcare workers.”

The ministry’s condemnation came amid a broader escalation across southern Lebanon, where Israeli forces carried out a series of attacks on Thursday.
According to local reports, Israeli drones struck the Ali al-Taher area, while artillery and field bombardments hit the town of Kfar Tebnit.
In Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, a Civil Defense vehicle operated by the Islamic Health Society was targeted on the main road as paramedics were responding to an earlier strike.

The Islamic Health Society said its team had been conducting a field inspection following an initial airstrike in the Al-Barid neighborhood when the area was hit again, injuring two medics and damaging their ambulance.
Despite the attack, the group said it would continue its operations. “These assaults will not deter us from fulfilling our humanitarian duty,” it said, affirming that its teams remain committed to “providing relief, treating the wounded, and carrying out their mission with the highest level of responsibility and dedication.”
