In an unusual incident described by the Israeli media, a plane carrying Israeli passengers violated Lebanese airspace and crossed it, heading towards Ben Gurion airport in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to Channel 12, which first reported the incident on Wednesday, a passenger plane on a flight from Larnaca to Ben Gurion Airport entered Lebanese airspace after the Israeli pilot deviated from the original flight path under the pretext of harsh weather conditions, so the option was to divert the flight to an alternative route.
It added that the passengers on the Aegean Airlines flight from Larnaca in Cyprus were not aware at the time that they were in Lebanese airspace.

The Times of Israeli quoted “Israel Airports Authority” (IAA) as saying that a plane bound for “Israel” from was diverted through Lebanese airspace amid stormy weather conditions.
“The Greek airline flight was under Cypriot air traffic control when the decision to divert was made for the sake of passenger safety,” the IAA said, adding: “responsibility for the flight was handed over to Israeli air traffic control once the plane had left Lebanese airspace.”
According to flight-tracking data, the jet passed directly over Beirut for several minutes before rejoining its revised approach path toward the Zionist entity.
Images from Flightradar24 show the aircraft making a clear detour northward into Lebanese territory before turning south toward Ben Gurion.

The pretext given by the Israeli media was a stormy weather, but the question here is why the Israeli non-military aviation decided this time to divert the flight path and violate the Lebanese airspace, knowing that it has faced stormy weather before and hasn’t resorted to this option?!
