Iran Warns of ‘Regret-Inducing’ Counterstrikes: ‘No Action Against Us Will Go Unanswered’

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has issued a stark warning that no act of aggression against the Islamic Republic will be permitted to go unanswered, calling for a legally pre-approved framework to ensure a swift and devastating response to any threat against the nation’s leadership or security establishment.

In a post shared on social media, Gharibabadi emphasized the critical need to maintain a strategy of a “crushing response” to any military aggression, insisting that Iran’s deterrent posture must be institutionalized through formal legislative channels to leave no room for hesitation in the face of enemy action.

Call for Institutionalized Retaliatory Mechanism

Gharibabadi proposed that either the Iranian Parliament or the Supreme National Security Council should approve a measure that “pre-defines the system’s decisive and regret-inducing response in the event of any malicious intent against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, or military and civilian officials.”

The deputy minister underscored the imperative of an unflinching national stance, stating unequivocally: “No action against Iran should remain without a response.”

The proposal signals Tehran’s intent to formalize its retaliatory protocols, ensuring that any hostile move—whether targeting top state figures, military commanders, or key infrastructure—is met with an immediate and overwhelming counteraction.

Intensifying Military Exchanges Provide Backdrop

The remarks come amid days of intense military exchanges between Iranian forces and the United States. The U.S. military has conducted strikes against sites along Iran’s southern coast, which Tehran has condemned as flagrant violations of its sovereignty. In a direct and proportionate response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched ballistic missile attacks on American military bases in regional countries, underscoring the Islamic Republic’s readiness to defend its territorial integrity.

Gharibabadi’s call for a pre-approved response framework reflects Iran’s broader strategic doctrine: that any aggression, regardless of its scale or origin, will be met with a calculated and painful riposte, leaving adversaries in no doubt about the costs of further escalation.
