Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday condemned the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
The ministry, in a statement, expressed heartfelt condolences to the Iranian government and people, National News Agency reported.
It called all sides for utmost self-restraint to avoid dragging the region into “the worst scenario.”
“Such assassinations ignite conflicts and shake stability,” the ministry warned, adding that the international law and conventions denounce similar acts.
Fakhrizadeh, 59, was martyred in a terrorist attack that saw a blast and shooting in Absar town east of Tehran, last Friday (November 27). The scientists was described as the ‘father’ of Iranian nuclear program, with western and Israeli reports pointing the finger at the Zionist entity.
